A leader is someone who leads by example, instils trust in others, is an ally, a coach, and an educator. Someone that their team will rally around day in and day out and better yet, wants to work hard for them. After working under Michael for over a year, I am so grateful I had him as the UX director on my project. He exemplifies so many quality traits as both a person and a leader. He is not only talented, but a true expert of the UX craft. Always willing to explain his thinking, Michael really cared about making sure we all understood his directions. Anytime thoughts or ideas did not align, he always encouraged us to have open and honest communication to find alignment.

I have learned so much from him, which is really a testament to the time he invested in me and his knack for teaching and mentorship. Michael helped build my confidence and made me realize what I was capable of. Understanding my abilities positively impacted the work I produced, how I carried myself and how I developed my processes throughout various phases of the product lifecycle. There is no doubt, Michael has an overwhelmingly inspiring presence that can be felt when he walks into a room. I know my experience on this project would not have been as enjoyable, fun, or interesting had Michael not been on the project. Anyone who gets to work with him is beyond lucky and his impact will always be felt and reflected in the work the team produces.
